Theme Thursday - Castle

Today's theme is castle.  Check out other posts for Theme Thursday here.

This is Kildrummy Castle in the beautiful Scottish countryside.  It was one of my favorite castles in Scotland.  I think one of the things I liked best about it was that it wasn't a big tourist destination.  It was just a beautiful ruin next to a pasture where sheep were peacefully grazing in the afternoon sunshine.  Sure, Edinburgh Castle is a must see.  But this place inspired me.

there's a castle called Castle Acre in Norfolk, much like this--not too much tourism but wonderful to visit.

First visit here, I think... caught myself staring at your banner pic for a while (I'm a dog-lover!)

You are right it is gloriously inspiring and beautiful. Love the lines of the building against the sky and grounds.

Also, I so love Sassy and Ginger.

One thing that I am finding interesting is how many bloggers have been overseas! I have never had an opportunity to travel like that!

Lovely... sometimes the best ones are those which allow you to create your own visions of what they once were.

Interestingly lots of people have posted about Scottish castles. Interesting because there are so many in Europe in much better repair. The Brits seem to have let theirs go a little. Lovely pictures on a rare sunny day! Nice pooches. I just picked mine up today after a night in the pound! GAH! She's back in the lockup for being a wonderer!
